NURSERY RHYME-I LOVE MY FRIENDS AND THEY LOVE ME-This fanciful print adorns many of the children's rooms in homes of Moseley collectors. This print depicts the Cow Jumping over the Moon, Humpty Dumpty, Little Bo Peep, the Cat and the Fiddle, Mother Goose and Jack and Jill. The idea for this print was inspired by my mother's attendance at the 1928 convention of the Nursery Rhyme Mythical Figures of America. My mom stated that it was she who ended up taking Jill's place and having to fetch that, difficult to deliver, pail of water. Mom said that, unfortunately, Jill's poor work habits ended up causing her many problems later on in life. Fortunately,Jack, inspired by the cow, became an astronaut, landed on the moon and now, in his later years, has successfully restored Humpty to his entirety. We said the print was fanciful and, for those skeptics who tend not to believe my mom attended that convention, she had her certificate of attendance. Over the years, it just got lost. Nobody is perfect. As mom often said," I don't like perfect people anyway.They are just so boring."
