ARE WE REALLY SEEING CASTLES IN THE SKY-Two children are standing on the beach along with their sea gull friends. It has been such a wondrous day that they imagine, or maybe it's not imagining, that they are seeing castles on the horizon under a big, colorful rainbow. One of my mom's favorite quotations comes, I believe, from Edna St. Vincent Millet, "Your reach should always exceed your grasp". This saying epitomizes my mom and she truly believed in setting goals that seemed too large for her to attain, and then attaining them. Having had to drop out of college because of the great depression, she went back to college and got her diploma. This was in 1954 and she was 45 years old. At that time  grown people just didn't go back to school with a bunch of 20 year olds.  Adult Education, then was limited to attending evening  seminars on great books, not algebra and history. My mom dreamed and made sure her dreams came true. She would not be denied and was a very courageous and determined person. I believe that quality is the thing about her that I admire most. Are we really seeing castles in the sky? My mom would have said, "If you aren't seeing them now, you just  keep looking. That was how I moved to Bay Saint Louis."
