LIFE IS SO DAILY- was a title based on a conversation my mom had with the janitor at her school, Oakhaven High School in Memphis. She was chatting with him one day after school and he said, "You know Miss Alice, life is just so daily." In the comment on "Life Gets Tegous, Don't It" I talked about my dad and how he did what needed doing without much or any angst. I think his attitude was rooted very much in an agricultural lifestyle. You plant, chop and pick and do all the things that you are supposed to do, but only God or fate controls too much rain or too little rain or freezes. The Serenity Prayer, God, grant me the strength to do the things I can do and turn over to God those things that are beyond my control, teach this way of life. My daddy was a happy man. I don't think he ever thought of "life being daily" as being a negative thing. It was just the way life was and is. I loved him and miss him and my mom loved him and missed him. That was all my dad wanted or expected.
